Technology Architecture

Technology Architecture is a disciplined approach for documenting the enterprise's current and emerging technologies in the form of policies, standards, and guidelines.

The Technology Architecture may define its own, specific principles, which will be documented here as they are defined.

PLEASE NOTE: The Enterprise Architecture Committee has endorsed all the documents available on this page. Documents marked with an * have not yet been adopted by the Information Services Board as a policy, standard, or guideline.

Network Domain

The Network Domain contains principles, business drivers, standards and guidelines for network infrastructure.

• * Network Solution Feature Documentation Guidelines: Establishes guidelines for the documentation of networking infrastructure solutions.
• * Network Business Case Guidelines: establishes guidelines for establishing a clear business case for common networking infrastructure.
• * Network Standards: Designates the State Government Network (SGN) and InterGovernmental Network (IGN) as common networking infrastructure for state government.

Internet Protocol (IP) Telephony Domain

The IP Telephony Domain contains principles, business drivers, standards and guidelines for telephony infrastructure that leverages Internet Protocol (IP) networking to carry telephone traffic.

• * IP Telephony Domain: Defines principles, business drivers, and environmental trends that should influence decisions about investments in and implementations of IP Telephony.
• * IP Telephony Network Investment Guidelines: Guidance for agencies in aligning their network investments with support of Voice over IP.
• * Internet Protocol (IP) Telephony Solution Feature Documentation Guidelines: Establishes guidelines for the documentation of IP Telephony infrastructure solutions.

Integration Domain

The Integration Domain contains principles, business drivers, standards and guidelines for the integration of information systems.

• * Integration Domain: Defines principles, business drivers, and environmental trends that should influence enterprise decisions about how to integrate information systems.
• * Solution Integration Design Guidelines: Guidelines for the design of systems, built or acquired by the state, to improve their ability to integrate with other systems.
• * File Drop Service Interaction Profile: An interoperable approach to system integration based on the transfer of files between systems.
• * Web Services Service Interaction Profile: An interoperable approach to system integration that uses open industry "web services" standards.
• * Websphere MQ Service Interaction Profile: An interoperable approach to system integration that uses Websphere MQ.
• * Service Modeling Guidelines: Provides guidance to agency architects, developers, and system integrators regarding the modeling and description of services.
